Audrey Evanchick, 95, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 10, 2024, at United Methodist Homes, Wesley Village Campus, Pittston, Pennsylvania.

She previously resided in West Pittston, Towanda, and Wilkes-Barre. She was the daughter of the late Jacob and Catherine Jayma Kotch of Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. Audrey grew up in Wilkes-Barre and was a graduate of James M. Coughlin High School.  She previously worked for S. Frieder & Sons, Wilkes-Barre, and The American Tobacco Company, Ashley.

In 1952 she married John Evanchick, of Wilkes-Barre. They were married for 55 years until his passing on December 11, 2007. Audrey was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who enjoyed every moment of the time she spent with her family. Throughout her life, she was diligent and committed to her family. She was a wonderful cook bringing family together during holidays and other events. She also shared many memorable times with her family and grandchildren. Whether it was vacationing in Ocean City Maryland or spending time at The Farm, family fun and great food was always part of the experience.

She was a faithful member of the Holy Resurrection Russian Orthodox Cathedral, Wilkes-Barre.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters Mary Wychock, Catherine Humphreys, Dolores Kane, and by her brother, Jacob Kotch.

Audrey is survived by her children, Carolyn Evanchick, West Pittston; John Evanchick Jr. and his wife Janice, Dupont; Robert Evanchick and his wife Janet, Wilkes-Barre; grandchildren Christine Corbett and her husband Daniel, Frankford, Delaware; Robert Evanchick Jr. and his wife Lena, Wellsboro; Renee Frank and her husband Brian, Roaring Brook Township; Jessica Iacovazzi and her husband Joseph, Moosic; seven great-grandchildren; brother, John Kotch, Johnstown; and nieces and nephews.

In accordance with Audrey's wishes, no viewing or formal funeral services will be held. Arrangements have been entrusted to Yeosock Funeral Home, 40 S. Main St., Plains, PA.
