Barbara Ann
Hockenbury
d. May 6, 2025
In Loving Memory of
Barbara Ann (Lukasavage) Hockenbury
February 5, 1949 – May 6, 2025
Barbara Ann (Lukasavage) Hockenbury, 77, of Wilkes-Barre, PA, passed away peacefully on May 6, 2025, at Tucker House Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Philadelphia.
Born in Wilkes-Barre, PA, on February 5, 1949, Barbara was the beloved daughter of the late Mary (Haliszik) and Peter Lukasavage. She was a proud graduate of G.A.R. Memorial High School and spent much of her life working in the retail industry, retiring from Kmart in Wilkes-Barre Township with years of dedicated service.
Barbara is survived by her loving husband, Richard Hockenbury of Wilkes-Barre; her son, Robert Roland Williams of Cocoa, FL; her cherished grandchildren, Timothy Robert Williams (PA) and Brandy Nicole Williams (Cocoa, FL); and her great-granddaughter, Ryleigh Williams (PA). She is also survived by her dear sister, Joan Lusk of West Palm Beach, FL, and many beloved nieces and nephews who will hold her memory close to their hearts.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mary (1998) and Peter Lukasavage (1991), as well as her brothers, Anthony Lukasavage (2012) and Peter Paul Lukasavage Jr. (2018).
Barbara will be remembered as a woman of quiet strength, boundless compassion, and enduring faith. Her family takes comfort in knowing she is reunited with loved ones who have gone before her, and that she is now at peace—restored in spirit, mind, and body.
A devoted lover of animals, Barbara believed that every creature deserved a chance at love, no matter their past. Among the many lives she touched was Paco, a once-terrified Chihuahua whom she rescued and nurtured with patience and care. Her kindness to all living beings remains one of her most enduring legacies.
Arrangements by Yeosock Funeral Home Inc. in Plains, PA. Per Barbara's wishes, her ashes will be taken to Florida by her son, where she will find her final resting place in the warmth and sunshine she loved.
