Barbara Silvi , 84, of Plains, PA passed away peacefully on Monday, February 14, 2022 at Tiffany Court Manor, Kingston. Born in Baltimore, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Anna Silvi. Barbara graduated from Sacred Heart High School, Plains and after graduation entered Nursing School. She became a registered nurse, pursuing a full and devoted career at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. Barbara was the head pediatric nurse at WB-General working alongside several prominent Doctors for more than 20 years, saving babies' lives and delivering them. As her career in nursing continued, she became the head health care nurse for all employees of Wilkes-Barre General Hospital for many years until retirement. Barbara was a kind and compassionate nurse devoted to her profession. All who came in contact with her knew she had their best interest at heart. She was a very involved volunteer working for several organizations: Baking for Catholic Churches fundraisers,using  her nursing skills at John Heinz, organizing activities at the VFW in Plains, and much more  too numerous to mention. She received several awards for her volunteer accomplishments. Thank you to the staff and management at Tiffany Court for the care shown to Barbara while she was a resident there,e specially during her final days. Barbara is survived by her brother, Thomas S. Silvi, Thornhurst Twp and preceded in death by her late parents, Joseph and Anna Silvi, and a beloved Sister-in-Law, Carol A Silvi. A Mass of Christian burial will be held Monday, February 21st, at 10 am, celebrated by the Rev. Jack C. Lambert  at Sts. Peter & Paul Church, Plains. Interment will be private at St. Francis Cemetery, Plains. Memorial donations can be sent to Sts.
