Obituary

Barbara (Wallace) Welgos passed away on Monday, August 3, 2026.

Barbara attended Coughlin High School but made the difficult decision to leave school early to help support her family. At 19 years old, she married the love of her life, Joseph Welgos, and the young couple moved to Trenton, New Jersey. It was there that they welcomed their beloved son, Joey, into their family.

Barb was known for her generosity. Every summer, she planted a garden filled with fresh vegetables and spent hours baking her delicious zucchini bread to share with her many friends and neighbors.

In 1999, Barb and Joe returned to their beautiful family home on Bald Mountain. Together, they enjoyed dancing at the Anthracite Rose Dance Club, visiting swap meets, traveling, and attending car and craft shows.

Barbara was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Joseph; her sister, Bernadine Mceli; and her brother, John Wallace.

Her memory lives on through her son, Joey; her sister, Joann Wallace Kay; and her loving nieces, nephews and friends.

Barb will forever be remembered as a loving wife, devoted mother and loyal friend whose generosity and kindness touched the lives of those around her. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

A memorial visitation will be held on Friday, August 14, 2026, beginning at 10:00 AM at Yeosock Funeral Home, 40 South Main Street, Plains. A committal service will follow at Maple Hill Cemetery, Hanover Township.
