Bernice
Cyzczerski
d. Apr 2, 2025
Bernice A. Czyczerski, 90, of the Miners Mills section of Wilkes-Barre, passed away peacefully on April 2, 2025, at Serenity Personal Care in Wyoming, while under the care of Allied Services Outpatient Hospice.
Born June 4, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Stella (Wendoloski) Chulvick.
Bernice was the widow of Theodore Czyczerski, who preceded her in death on July 29, 1993. A devoted mother and beloved nana, she was the proud parent of three children and cherished every moment spent with her grandson.
She was employed for many years in the local garment industry and later worked in the kitchen at the Educational Conference Center at Luzerne County Community College. Bernice took great pride in her home—planting flowers in the summer, tending her lawn, and enjoying card games with friends. Saturday evenings often found her watching polkas and The Lawrence Welk Show.
A woman of deep faith, Bernice was a longtime member of SS. Peter and Paul Church, Plains Township.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Richard J. Czyczerski; siblings, Alfred Chulvick, Constance Zielinski, and Florence Rampola; and son-in-law, Raymond Vender.
Surviving are her son, Theodore Czyczerski, Norwich, CT; daughter, Lisa Czyczerski Vender, Exeter; grandson, Ross Vender, Exeter; brother, Joseph Chulvick, Jenkins Township; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She is also fondly remembered by the caregivers and staff at Serenity Personal Care in Wyoming, whose kindness and compassion brought comfort to Bernice and her family.
The Czyczerski family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the entire staff at Serenity for the loving care and support shown to Bernice during her stay.
The Order of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 8th, in SS. Peter and Paul Church, 13 Hudson Road, Plains 18705. Interment will follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Wyoming. Friends and relatives may call at the church for a viewing from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. All services and viewing will be held in the church.
Arrangements are under the care of Yeosock Funeral Home, 40 S. Main Street, Plains
