Betty Lou Hirko Dupak, 84, passed away Monday, Sept. 27, 2021, surrounded by her children.

Betty Lou was born in Plains Twp. to the Late Andrew and Julia Hirko. She was married for 44 years to the late Frank Joseph Dupak Sr., who passed Nov. 7, 2004, and together they raised eight children.

Betty was a wonderful stay-at-home mom, caring for her children and later enjoying the company of her grandchildren. Betty loved Elvis and was a big fan of his movies and music. She loved to listen to country music while playing bingo or slots games on her computer.

She is survived by her children, Frank Jr. and wife, Peggy, Bear Creek; William, Laurel Run; Barb O'Malley and husband, Jim, Plains Twp.; Tony and wife, Lori, Plains Twp.; Mary Jo Simonton and husband, Phil, Mountain Top; Joe and wife, Tricia, Mountain Top; Frances Hart and husband, Andy, Scranton, and Lucy Webb and husband, Jamie Sr., Edwardsville; sisters, Barb Hirko, Plains Twp.; Alberta Evancho, Wilkes-Barre; and Florence Hornick, Plains Twp.; 15 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, Frank Dupak Sr., Betty was preceded in death by sisters, Maryann Pienta and Dorothy Picchetti; and brother, Andrew Hirko.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. Friday with the Rev. Reginald Thomas as celebrant from Yeosock Funeral Home Inc., 40 S. Main St., Plains Twp. Family and friends may call from 10 a.m. to service time.
