Carol Flis, 74, of Mitchell St, Plains passed away Monday, March 27, 2023 at her residence.  Carol was the daughter of the late Zigmund and Margaret Flis (Yusko) in 1949. She is predeceased by her brothers, Zigmund Jr, and Michael.  Carol was a devout Catholic and a long time parishioner at St. Mary's Byzantine where she also attended grade school.  Carol worked at Carter Footwear in Wilkes-Barre for over 20 years and spent the second half of her career as a retail clerk, working in the Joe Amato East End Center, Pharmor, Dollar Tree, and Big Lots.  She loved reminiscing on memories made at the family home and the three generations of its occupants.  She cared deeply for animals, those she took in as well as those she took care of outside. She loved sharing animal stories and connecting with like-minded friends, coworkers, and customers in the community. Carol is survived and will be missed by nieces, nephews, and cousins in the surrounding areas and beyond. A funeral service will be held at 1 pm, Monday, April 3rd from the Yeosock Funeral Home, 40 S Main St, Plains, PA 18705, Interment in St. Mary's Byzantine Catholic Cemetery, Dallas. Friends and relatives are invited to a viewing/ wake service to be held from 2 to 4 pm Sunday, April 2nd, at the Funeral Home.
