Dean Abbott, 70, of Swoyersville, passed away on Monday, August 11, 2025, at Allied Meade St. Hospice, Wilkes-Barre.

Dean was born on July 24, 1955, to the late Xavier and Pauline Sanko Abbott.

He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Sandra Verosky Abbott and her son, Eric Verosky; daughter, Courtney Abbott of Florida; and granddaughter, Isabella Sophia LaFrance. He is predeceased by his brothers, Xavier and Con Abbott, and sister, Judy Engle.

Dean enjoyed a day on the golf course with friends, but you could always find him working in the backyard—laying brickwork or crafting decorations from nature. Dean served in the US Navy and was a member of the Swoyersville Post 0644 American Legion.

In accordance with his wishes, Dean's life will be celebrated privately.
