Obituary

Deborah M. Waznia, a resident of West Wyoming, passed away on September 23, 2024, at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center. Born in Wilkes-Barre on November 15, 1956, she spent many years living in West Wyoming.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Stephanie, as well as several aunts, uncles, and cousins. Deborah is survived by her sister, Cynthia M. Yanchus of Media, PA, along with numerous cousins and friends.

A graduate of King's College, she earned her degree in Communications and English in 1978, magna cum laude. Deborah wrote for the Citizens' Voice and hosted a Saturday morning radio show during her college years. Before retiring, she worked as a medical secretary for over 30 years at Commonwealth Health General Hospital and Nesbitt Hospital.

Deborah enjoyed traveling, shopping, attending movies, and reading mystery novels.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 26, 2024, with visitation beginning at 9 a.m. at Yeosock Funeral Home, 40 S. Main St., Plains, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Ss. Peter and Paul Church, 13 Hudson Road, Plains. Interment will take place at St. Francis Cemetery in Wilkes-Barre. Family and friends are invited to attend.
