Obituary

Don Meeker, a beloved Dad and Pa, gave his life over to God Sunday April 23, 2023, greeted in heaven by his wife Dorothy Louise(1996), daughter Lisa(2005) and members of the Mushinsky and Meeker families.

Born, raised and died in the house that his father built, Don was a proud lifetime resident of Hunlock Creek. Don was the son of the late Freas and Maude Meeker.  Don proudly served the Army Reserve during his youth.

He married the prettiest girl at the square dance,Lucy (Dorothy) Mushinsky Meeker and they were blessed with four children. He was rich in the fact that he was able to see three generations of Lucy's and his love.

Always a provider for his family, Don's work ethic was on full display when he was an employee of Eberhard Faber in Mt Top. Upon its closing, he worked multiple jobs and retired from Anesco as a member of IBEW Local 163(1992-2004). He was regarded as a valuable employee and generous friend to all.

Don was often seen as that lucky guy born on 3-17 scratching lottery tickets, but he actually was a man of great faith. One of his proudest accomplishments was receiving the Sacraments in the Catholic Church.

Above all, Don lived for and loved his family. His happiest moments occurred when his family gathered for holiday celebrations. He was Mr. Holiday. He was most passionate about his Christmas lighting and his village display under the tree.

He is survived by sons Donald and Lisa Meeker, Brian and Melinda Meeker, daughter, Gail and Chad Honeywell, Grandchildren, Christopher Wrubel, Jessica Beaver(Jason and Lacey), Erica Kornoski(Cale and Nolan), Olivia Wrubel, Mikaela, Annika and Laila Meeker and Chad and Lucy Honeywell.

He required little, but lived and loved big. His strength during  various life events was so inspirational. His legacy will live on in that he remained faithful and positive when given his crosses to bear.

Funeral services will be private and held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, do a random act of kindness and fondly think of Don.
