Elaine M. Daigeaun (Kushner), 86, of Carlisle, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 7, 2024, at Thornwald Home in Carlisle, surrounded by her loving family. Born on May 6, 1938, in Plains, Elaine was the cherished daughter of the late George and Eva (Jama) Kushner. She resided most of her life in Plains before relocating to Carlisle eight years ago to be nearer to her family.

Elaine was the beloved wife of the late Michael F. Daigeaun, Sr., who preceded her in death in March 2009 after 39 years of marriage. She was also predeceased by her brother, George Kushner, in April 2013, and her dear identical twin sister, Evelyn (Kushner) Adamczyk, in April 2014, with whom she is now joyfully reunited.

A graduate of Sacred Heart High School in Plains, PA, Elaine furthered her education at Misericordia University in Dallas, PA. She enjoyed a rewarding career as an Executive Assistant for several prominent attorneys in the Wilkes-Barre area and retired in 2002 from the Commonwealth Telephone Company in Dallas, PA.

Known for her vibrant sense of humor and love for life, Elaine took pleasure in gardening, shopping, solving puzzles, and cherishing moments with her grandsons. She was a devout member of St. Mary's Byzantine Catholic Church in Wilkes-Barre, and later, Saint Patrick Church in Carlisle.

Elaine is survived by her devoted daughter, Michelle Yunk and her husband John of Mount Holly Springs, PA; grandsons, Nathan and Ryan Yunk; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Thornwald Home for their exceptional care and compassion during Elaine's final days.

Elaine will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, and friend, leaving behind a legacy of warmth and kindness that will be cherished by all who knew her.

A Requiem Service will be held at 11 am on Wednesday, May 15, 2024 at Yeosock Funeral Home, 40 S Main St, Plains 18705.  Friends and relatives are invited for visitation from 10 am on Wednesday morning until the beginning of services; officiated by Rev, Michael Kerestes of St Mary's Byzantine Catholic Church, Wilkes-Barre.  All services will be in  the funeral home with interment following in St. Mary's Byzantine Catholic Cemetery, Dallas, PA
