Elizabeth A. Herbert, 75, a lifelong resident of Bear Creek Township, passed into eternal life on Thursday, July 13, 2023, in Commonwealth Health Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. She was proceeded in death by her parents Robert and Catherine Herbert; her brothers William, Robert, Edward (Dolly), John (Betty), and Francis Herbert; her sister Darlene Cirko; brother-in-law Reverend Gary Jones, and her very dear friend Barbara King. Betty Alice is survived by her sister Catherine Jones, West Wyoming; brother-in-law Alan Cirko, at home; sisters-in-law Joan Herbert, Wilkes-Barre and Rose Herbert, Bear Creek Township. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. Born February 2, 1948, Elizabeth graduated from James M. Coughlin High School, Class of 1965. Prior to her retirement Betty worked as a sewing machine operator at Carter Rubber Footwear where she made many lifelong friends. She was a member of the local Red Hat Society – Tequila Rose Chapter. Elizabeth enjoyed spending time with her cat, also named Elizabeth, who will miss her companionship immensely.

Funeral Services will be held Monday morning, 9:15 am, from the Yeosock Funeral Home, 40 S Main St, Plains with Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in Ss. Peter and Paul Church, 13 Hudson Road, Plains, 18705. Interment immediately following in Maple Hill Cemetery, Hanover. Friends and family are invited to a viewing/ wake service on Sunday from 2 to 4 pm at the Funeral Home.
