Obituary

Eugene J. Tokach, 87, of Mountain Top, passed away on July 20, 2022 at Providence Place Senior Living
Center in Drums.
Gene was born on May 26, 1935 in Plains. He was the only son of Joseph and Josephine Tokach.
On July 2, 1960, Gene married Barbara Ann Suchocki and they began their life together in Montoursville.
They were blessed with two children, Jeff and Kim. In 1973, Gene and Barbara moved to Mountain Top
where they resided until January, 2021, when they began living at Providence Place in Drums.
Gene was a graduate of Plains High School and the Temple University School of Pharmacy. He was
employed as a pharmaceutical representative with Eli Lilly and Amgen. An excellent golfer and member
of the Wyoming Valley Country Club, Gene won both the Senior and Super Senior Club Championships.
Gene was a devout Catholic and a member of St. Jude's Catholic Church. He was a fan of Penn State
football, Temple basketball, the Phillies, and the Eagles. His grandchildren, Taylor, Hayley, and Curtis
brought him much joy and happiness and he cherished the close relationship he had with them.
Gene was preceded in death by his loving wife, Barbara. He is survived by his son, Jeffrey and his wife
Terry, Mountain Top; his daughter Kimberly Kellar and her husband Jim, Woolwich Twp., NJ; and three
grandchildren Taylor Kellar, Hayley Kellar, and Curtis Tokach.
Funeral services will begin at 8:15am on Wednesday, July 27, 2022 from the Yeosock Funeral Home, 40
South Main Street, Plains; with a mass of Christian burial at 9:00am at St. Jude's Catholic Church, 420
South Mountain Blvd., Mountain Top. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, 1594 South Main
Street, Hanover.
Friends may visit from 5:00pm-8:00pm on Tuesday, July 26 at the Yeosock Funeral Home.
Gene's family extends their sincerest thanks and appreciation to Dr. Michael Washinsky and the staffs at
Lehigh Valley Cedar Crest Hospital, Providence Place Senior Living, and Compassus Hospice Care for the
devoted and compassionate care they provided.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Gene to the Providence Place Co-worker
Foundation, 1528 Sand Hill Road, Hummelstown, PA 17036. Please indicate that the donation is to be
used at Providence Place in Drums.
