Eva Souchick passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 19, 2025 at Allied Services Skilled Nursing Center in Wilkes-Barre.
Born in Edwardsville on January 5, 1932, she was the daughter of Metro and Helen (Hazilla) Souchick.
After graduating from Edwardsville High School in 1949, Eva began her career with the Social Security Administration in Wilkes-Barre, where she worked diligently until her retirement. A woman of deep faith, she was a lifelong and active member of St. John the Baptist Orthodox Church in Edwardsville, where she also sang in the Choir for many years.
Eva was an avid reader and cherished family gatherings, especially during the holidays. She delighted in traveling with her sister Anna to visit Hawaii and her sister Elizabeth (Betty) and family in California.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Metro and Helen; brothers Michael, Peter, and Joseph; and sisters Helen and Anna. She is survived by her sister, Elizabeth, in California, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and their families, whom she always remembered with loving birthday and holiday cards.
A Requiem Service will be conducted Tuesday, October 28, at 11 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Orthodox Church, 93 Zerby Avenue, Edwardsville, 18704. Friends and family may call for visitation at the Church beginning at 10 a.m. until the time of services. Interment will follow immediately in St. John the Baptist Orthodox Cemetery, Pringle. Arrangements are under the care of Yeosock Funeral Home, 40 S. Main St., Plains Township, 18705.
