PLAINS – Francis J. Griffith, 74, lifelong resident of Plains Township, entered into eternal rest, May 8, 2022.

Francis was the son of the late Elmer and Marie (Kustrin) Griffith

A graduate of Plains Memorial High School, Francis was employed by Luzerne Products for three decades until retiring.

Francis was a long-time member of the Plains Lion Club, where he received the Melvin Jones Award, a fellowship award which is the highest form of recognition. He was also a proud member of the Henry Club and the Polish American Veterans Club. Francis was a parishioner of Saints Peter and Paul Church, where he enjoyed signing in the choir.

Francis loved to spend his days sitting on his porch and giving a wave to all of his neighbors as they passed by.

Francis is survived by his brothers, Thomas Griffith, Wilkes-Barre, and William Kustrin, Plains, nieces, nephew, along with great nieces, and great nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Ss. Peter and Paul Church, 13 Hudson Road, Plains, on Friday, May 13, 2022 at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends may call at the Church from 9:00am to 10:00am. Interment will be in the Parish Cemetery, Plains.
