Obituary

Helen Gudiatis, 95, died Friday, November 26, 2021 at home peacefully in her sleep. She was preceded in death by her spouse, Edward A. Gudiatis in 2017 and her four siblings Olga Cywinski, Peter Ochinko, Paul Ochinko, and Sophie Schmid. Born to Lazar and Pauline Ochinko in Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania December 5, 1925, Helen continued to resided in Wyoming Valley throughout her life. As a young lady Helen worked as a seamstress. In 1953, Helen married Edward "Eddie" Gudiatis taking on the role of wife and homemaker. A doting Aunt, Helen would often spend time with her siblings, nieces, and nephews. Faithful members of Holy Trinity Orthodox Church,  Eddie and Helen enjoyed supporting local charities and their community of faith. In her final years, Helen appreciated visits with her friends and spending time with family. She is survived by her many loving nieces, and nephews. A Requiem Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. in Holy Trinity Russian Orthodox Church, 401 E. Main Street, Wilkes-Barre; with Rev. Innocent Neal officiating. Friends may call for vistation at Holy Trinity Church from to 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. prior to the services.  Interment in Fern Knoll Burial Park, Dallas where Helen will rest next to her husband, Eddie, and her siblings. Arrangements by the Yeosock Funeral Home, 40 S Main St, Plains 18705.
