Jerry Hanchulak, 87 of Plains, Pa., passed away Wednesday, May 28, 2025, in the company of
those he loved most. Jerry was the son of the late Victor and Gertrude Hanchulak. He was
preceded in death by his loving wife of 60 years Theresa A. Hanchulak, his parents, his brother
Victor Hanchulak and his sister Janet Gioffredo (Hanchulak).
Jerry is survived by his daughter/caretaker/best friend Sandra Roebuck-Hanchulak, his son
Attorney Gerald J. Hanchulak and wife Teresa, as well as five grandchildren, Joseph Roebuck,
Amanda Roebuck, Jordan Hanchulak, Taylor Hanchulak, Morgan Hanchulak, four great
grandchildren, Matty Gemberling, Jackson Roebuck, Logan Dougherty and Kaycee Dougherty.
Jerry met his wife, the love of his life, when he was just 16 years old, and Theresa remained at
his side until her death in 2020. Jerry's greatest love was spending time with family. He also
enjoyed fishing, boating, and golf. He loved those things the most when he was doing them
with his children and grandchildren.
Jerry was the owner of TJ's Floor Covering. Upon retiring from the floor covering business, he
became the owner of Jerry's Place Pizza and Bar in Plains, Pa. which he successfully operated
for 40 years.
The family would like to thank Bruce Saidman, MD, Oncologist, Kingston, PA, Jay Boyle, MD,
Head and Neck Surgeon, Basking Ridge, NJ, Chris Peters, Radiation Oncologist, Dunmore, PA
and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. Dr. Saidman treated Jerry for over a decade, and
his compassion was unwavering. Doctors Saidman, Boyle and Peters combined efforts gave
Jerry 15 additional years with his family.
The Family has chosen to have a private service.
