John R Pelchar Sr. ,77, was called home to be with the Lord, on the night of November 30th, 2021. Born April 18, 1944, John touched the lives of every person he made contact with. He graduated from GAR High School, where he lettered in both football and wrestling. After high school, John went on to complete some studies at Wilkes University.

John will forever be known for not only his stubborn headedness, but also his dedication to working. John worked for several places, including; ARA services, Nabisco, Plains Penn Mart, and Advanced Auto Parts. John continued to work his entire life, even while attending dialysis three times a week. Just in June of 2020, John had finally made the decision to officially retire. He took such pride in his work ethics and being a devoted, providing, family member.

In his earlier years, John was an avid bowler, leading him into the Wyoming Valley Bowling Hall of Fame. As he aged, you could often find John in the comfort of his home, with his family. Rest assured though, when it was a holiday, you could not pull him away from his grill and radio outside. John enjoyed watching Football, Paternity Court, and Gunsmoke with his son, while sneaking their dog, Maci, treats.  John never lost his witty mind and could always be found cracking jokes, keeping his family constantly smiling and laughing. Overall, John was truly a one-of-a-kind man; proud, stubborn, sarcastic, and most of all, loving. He will be missed tremendously.

Surviving is his son, John Jr; granddaughters,Alexis and Kaitlyn; grandson Christopher Jr.; and great grandson, Carson. Preceded in death by his loving wife of 50 years, Carol Ann. Also: son, Christopher Sr.; mom, Stella; dad, John, and brother, Wayne.

Funeral will be held on Monday, December 6, 2021  at 10 am from the Yeosock Funeral Home, 40 S. Main Street, Plains. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 am Monday morning in Good Shepherd Polish National Catholic Church, 269 E Main St, Plymouth, with the Rev. Lucian Urbaniak officiating. Interment immediately following in Oak Lawn Cemetery, Hanover Township. Friends may call from 4 pm to 6 pm Sunday evening at Yeosock Funeral Home.
