Obituary

Joseph Frank Grumblis, 76, passed away Monday, January 17th 2022, at the Wilkes Barre General Hospital. Born in Kingston, he was the son of the late George and Anna Grumblis. Joseph was a Boy Scouts of America, Scout Master for his son's troop and loved guiding the boys during their activities. With his parents permission, he enlisted in the Army at the age of 17 and was stationed in Berlin, Germany during the Vietnam War from 1963-1967. He was an expert rifleman and was awarded the National Defense Service medal and was a member of the American Legion. Joe was employed at the Tobyhanna Army Depot for 10 years until retirement. He was very proud of his country and loved his: Dutchmaster Presidents cigars, beer and watching Fox news during his retirement. In addition to his parents, he preceeded in death by his brother George. He is survived by his wife Helen Rushton Grumblis of Pringle, children Joseph Grumblis Jr. and his wife Lori Matusick Grumblis of Hudson and Ann Marie Grumblis- Lechak of Pringle, grandchildren Sarah Lechak and Brian Lechak Jr. of Pringle, Jessica Grumblis and partner Tyler Cobleigh, and Joseph Grumblis III of Hudson, great granddaughter Aurora Cobleigh of Hudson, sister Annette Scanlin and husband Thomas Scanlin of Raleigh, North Carolina. Funeral Service will be held on Friday, January 21, 2022 at 10:00 am from the Yeosock Funeral Home, 40 S Main St, Plains 18705, with the Pastor Daniel Shission, celebrant. Friends may call for visitation on Thursday evening, January 20th, 2022 from 4:00pm-7:00pm and on Friday January 21st, 2022 from 9:30 am until time of service. Interment in St John's RO Cemetery with Military Honors, Connor St, Pringle.
