Karen M. Alber, 67, of Wilkes-Barre Township, passed peacefully to eternal rest with the Lord on Wednesday, September 23, 2026.

Karen was the daughter of the late Celia “Ceil” Krupsha Alber and Carl Alber.

She is survived by her sister and best friend, Debbie Molitoris and her husband, John Jr.; her brother, Carl Alber and his wife, Norene; her nephew, John Molitoris III; niece, Carla Alber; and nephew, Eric Alber.

Karen was a beautiful person inside and out and had a heart of gold. She was a devout member of St. John’s Byzantine Catholic Church in Wilkes-Barre Township, where she taught catechism to children for many years. She was also a devoted supporter of the Carmelite Nuns of Sugarloaf. Karen was a past member of Post 815 Ladies Auxiliary and Catholic War Veterans Post 274.

Karen loved visiting her favorite place, Cape May. She first enjoyed trips there with her mother, Ceil, and later with her sister, Debbie, and brother-in-law, Johnny. One of Karen’s favorite summer traditions was visiting the Wilkes-Barre Township Settlement Camp and sitting by the campfire.

Karen worked for Planters/Nabisco/Kraft, where she made many lasting friendships during her 37 years of service before retiring.

Karen will be remembered for her faith, her kindness, her love of family and the many friendships she formed throughout her life. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

A Requiem Funeral Service will be conducted on Saturday, October 3, 2026 at 12 pm at St John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church, 526 Church St, Wilkes-Barre Township, 18702 with the Rev. Michael Prodanets.  officiating. Friends and family may call for visitation at the Church from 10 am until the time of services.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family to help defray funeral expenses.
