Karen Cecilia Ostopick, 68, of Plains Township entered into eternal life on Thursday, December 16th, 2021. Karen was born in Wilkes-Barre Hospital on September 23rd, 1953 to James and Regina Gallagher. She was a lifelong resident of Plains and graduated from Sacred Heart High School, class of '71. Upon graduation Karen was employed at Bell Atlantic in Wilkes-Barre where she made many lifelong friends(family). Karen retired from Verizon after 30+ years. She enjoyed playing bingo and trying her luck at the casino. She was an avid Notre Dame Football, Philadelphia Phillies, and Joe Montana fan but above all, she was the biggest fan of her children; son, Alex Ostopick and daughter, Katelyn Ostopick. Karen dearly loved her family and friends, along with her grand-fur babies, Dutch and Lucy. She was preceded in death by her father, James and mother, Regina Gallagher. Brothers, Frederick and Patrick Gallagher. She is survived by her beloved children; son, Alex Ostopick(Rachel) and daughter, Katelyn Ostopick(Nick), sister, Maureen Gallagher and brothers, James, Michael, Sean and Kevin Gallagher. Karen will be greatly missed by her family and friends and all this whose lives she touched with her sense of humor, fierce loyalty, and generosity.

Cheer, cheer for old Notre Dame,

Wake up the echoes cheering her name,

Send a volley cheer on high,

Shake down the thunder from the sky.

What though the odds be great or small

Old Notre Dame will win over all,

While her loyal sons are marching

Onward to victory.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, December 22nd, at 10:00am in Saints Peter and Paul Church, 13 Hudson Rd, Wilkes-Barre, 18705. The Reverend Jack Lambert, pastor, will be celebrant of the service and interment will be privately held in the St Mary's Cemetery, Hanover Township.
