Obituary for Kevin Lavette Patterson

Kevin Lavette Patterson, 57, of Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, passed away on October 13, 2025, at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. Born on November 21, 1967, in Wilkes-Barre, Kevin was the beloved son of Lavette Worthington Johnson and Bobbi Crenshaw Patterson.

Kevin grew up in a close-knit family and carried that same warmth throughout his life. He graduated from GAR High School and worked in
telemarketing and sales, where his friendly spirit, sharp wit, and genuine kindness left a lasting impression on everyone he met.

He is survived by his loving mother, Bobbi Patterson, of Lithonia, Georgia; his siblings Lisa Ann Patterson, Shawn Patterson, and Jason Patterson; and his cherished children Ashley Patterson-Reyes, Chayne Patterson, Kevin Remy Stylus Patterson, and Zarrhea Patterson.
He also leaves behind his son-in-law Rafael Reyes and grandchildren Jordan, Camilla, Bianca, Julian, and Xavier, who brought him great joy and pride.

Kevin's extended family includes his nieces and nephews — Yaz and Vi (1988), Joah-Zi (1987), Vichon (1995), and Janssen (2000) — and great-nieces and nephews Jaxon, Jah'mari, Josiah, and Italia.

At the center of Kevin's later years was his devoted partner, Shari Richards, with whom he shared a deep and loving bond. Together, they found joy in life's simple pleasures — especially long drives, good music, and laughter-filled days. He will also be remembered by a host of dear friends who were drawn to his humor, loyalty, and generous heart.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Alf Crenshaw and Vashti Moore-Crenshaw, and by several other beloved family members who helped shape the man he became.

A viewing and visitation service will be held on Monday, October 20, 2025, from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Yeosock Funeral Home, 40 South Main Street, Plains, Pennsylvania. Family and friends are invited to gather and celebrate Kevin's life, sharing memories of his laughter, love, and enduring kindness.
