Obituary

Leonard "Lenny" Malys Jr., aged 69, of Plains, Pennsylvania, departed this life on January 31, 2024. Born and raised in Plains, he was the proud alumnus of Plains High School's final graduating class. Lenny carved out a fulfilling career as an auto mechanic, spending many years at the Firestone store located in Wyoming Valley Mall. He was a cherished husband to his late wife, Deborah (née Kozemko), and a beloved son and brother.

In his later years, after the passing of Deborah in 2009 and entering into retirement, Lenny's heart found a new joy in Vickie Desantis. Together, they moved to Bluffton, South Carolina, where they relished in travel and a host of family gatherings, until her passing in 2023. His life was also marked by the loss of his brother Lawrence in 2022.

Lenny was a devout member of the Church of the Palms in Okatie, South Carolina. His memory will be fondly cherished by his brother, Stephen, and Stephen's wife, Diane, of Monrovia, Maryland; his nephews Larry, Tyler, Darrel; his niece Annissa; his sister-in-law Pam Kozemko of Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, and her children, Corinne Santarelli and Jared Kozemko; great-nieces Madelyn and Mia; and numerous cousins. Lenny also leaves behind a circle of close friends, including Debra and Jeremy Butler of Hilton Head, SC, and Theresa and Charles Schirg of Factoryville, PA.

A life well-lived and well-loved, Lenny's journey will be celebrated at Yeosock Funeral Home, 40 S Main St, Plains, PA, on February 13, from 9-11 AM, followed by a service in his honor. Lenny's legacy of kindness, friendship, and love will continue to inspire all who knew him.
