Leonard William Rogers Jr, 75, of the Hudson section of Plains, entered into eternal life on March 9, 2023, after a courageous battle from Lewy Body Dementia. Born in Kulpmont, he is the son of the late Leonard William Rogers, Sr and the late Mary (Grinaway) Rogers. Graduating from Mount Carmel High School in 1965 where he excelled on the football field; but he was a Kulpmont Wildcat at heart. After graduation, he joined the United States Air Force where he served from 1966-1970 earning the rank of Sergeant. He was stationed at Elmendorf AFB, in Anchorage, Alaska. He had so many fond memories of the breathtaking landscape and had many stories to share. After an honorable discharge from the Air Force, he worked as a Federal Coal Mine Inspector for the Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) until his retirement in 2006.  As he watched his children grow, he enjoyed coaching youth sports and family trips to the Grove (Knoebels). He reveled in taking his son to college and professional football games and attending local High School football games. Leonard was an avid Oakland Raider fan spending many Sundays watching the games with his daughter. Just Win Baby! After retirement, he spent Friday afternoons at Cracker Barrel with his best friends Dennis (Denny) Hagy and Charles (Chuck) Moore for Fish Fry Friday. In his later years he took pride in spending time with his grandchildren and their many achievements. He is survived by his wife of 40 years Donna M (Vedro) Rogers, son Leonard W Rogers III wife Amanda, daughter Stacey Jean Rogers and companion. Grandchildren Brandon and Aubrey Rogers. Sisters Sandy Cesari who he referred to as Jean, husband Joe Cesari of Kulpmont , Millie Smith of Kulpmont. Many nieces and nephews. Friends Dennis and wife Kate Hagy, Charles and wife Vicki Moore, his Angelina Rittenhouse. Along with his Ex-Wife Sue Germick whom remained close friends throughout the years. The family would like to thank Hospice Of The Sacred Heart for their compassion and personal care. Dr. Maya Lichtenstien, the staff at Geisinger Memory and Cognition center for their care. Most importantly his daughter Stacey Jean who took exemplary care of her best bud, Leonard, is finally at peace and enjoying the company of his best friend, Leonard, Sr. (Pap). In accordance with his wishes, there will be no public visitation. Interment will be at Fort Indiantown Gap, Annville with Air Force Military Honors at the convenance of the family.
