Lisa
Cohen
d. Oct 1, 2026
August 21, 1970 – October 1, 2026
Lisa Ann Cohen, 56, of Kingston, Pennsylvania, passed away on Thursday, October 1, 2026, leaving behind a lifetime of memories, laughter, and love that will forever be cherished by those fortunate enough to have known her.
Born on August 21, 1970, in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, Lisa was the beloved daughter of the late Arlene Evans and Emil P. Howanitz, M.D.
Lisa graduated from Seton Catholic High School in 1989 and dedicated much of her professional life to caring for others. She worked as a nurse at the John Heinz Institute for nearly 20 years, where she touched countless lives through her compassion, dedication, and commitment to helping those in need. Most recently, she worked as a paramedical examiner for ExamOne, continuing her lifelong passion for healthcare and serving others.
Anyone who knew Lisa knew that she was truly one of a kind. She was loud, opinionated, outspoken, and never afraid to tell you exactly how she felt. She didn’t sugarcoat things, and you never had to wonder where you stood with her. But beneath that strong personality was a woman with an enormous heart who loved her people fiercely. If Lisa loved you, you knew it, and there was nothing she wouldn’t do for those closest to her.
Above all else, Lisa’s greatest pride and joy were her two sons, Derick and Darrell. They were her entire world, her greatest accomplishments, and the center of her life. Her love for her boys was unconditional, unwavering, and something that could never be questioned. She was their biggest supporter, their protector, and their constant source of love and strength.
Lisa was also a die-hard Philadelphia Eagles fan. Whether celebrating a victory or passionately expressing her frustration after a loss, she brought the same energy and enthusiasm to football that she brought to everything else in life.
Lisa leaves behind her beloved sons, Derick and Darrell; her cherished granddaughters, Leilani, Catalaya, Ariana, and Isabella; her loving boyfriend, Jermaine; Cornel, the father of her sons, who remained a meaningful and supportive presence in her life; Derick and Darrell’s older brothers, Charif and Little; her cousin Jon; and her beloved dog, King. She also leaves behind extended family, dear friends, and countless others whose lives were made brighter by knowing her.
She was preceded in death by her loving parents, Arlene Evans and Emil P. Howanitz, M.D.
Though her passing leaves an unimaginable void, Lisa’s spirit will live on through her sons, her granddaughters, and everyone who carries a piece of her love with them. Her voice, her laughter, her honesty, and her larger-than-life personality will never be forgotten.
Lisa was unapologetically herself, loved with everything she had, and left a mark on this world that time will never erase.
