Obituary

Mabel A. Jones, 72, p eacefully entered the pearly gates on Tuesday, November 22, 2022. As Mabel wished, she passed away at home surrounded by loved ones. Mabel was a resident of Wilkes-Barre for her entire life. She graduated from Coughlin High School in the class of 1968. For work, Mabel spent many years as a waitress in several restaurants , her favorite being Eddie's Diner in Plains Township. Mabel also managed the Western Corral in Plains Township for many years. Mabel had a spitfire personality and an incredible sense of humor. She always told things as they were , as they are, and as they should be …unfiltered. Mabel loved spending time with family and friends. She looked forward to her weekly "therapy sessions" at Torony's Hot Dogs with her best friends, Roberta, Gary, and Jeanie. Mabel enjoyed outdoor family gatherings, going to yard sales/estate sales, and shopping , especially on Hollywood, FL's broadwalk during her favorite family vacations. At home, she loved to sit on the front porch and read James Patterson's true crime mysteries. Mabel was preceded in death by her mother, June Jones, father John Jones, sister Shirley Smith, nieces Monica Czachor and Christine Keih l , and the love of her life, Angelo. She is survived by her daughter, Dee Jones , grand children, Amanda Jones, Dan ny Yale, Eric Yale, and Jenna Rhodes , and great grandchildren, Dante Williams, Kiannah Yale, Keiton Yale, Keigyn Burridge , and soon to be Eric Yale, Jr. Mabel is survived by her sisters, Pamela Kasper and husband Marty Kasper, Donna Javick , Joann Olson, and brother, Kenneth Jones. She is also survived by many others close to her heart whom she considered her " kids" and "grandkids ." She was and will always be loved tremendously and missed by everyone whom had had the pleasure of knowing her ! Friends and family are invited to a memorial celebration of Mabel's life to be held on Saturday, December 10, 2022 from 2 to 4 pm at the Yeosock Funeral Home, 40 S Main St, Plains.
