Clifton, VA- Marilyn B. Havrilak of Clifton, VA, formerly Wilkes-Barre, PA, passed away peacefully at Fairfax Inova Hospital on Monday, May 15, 2023, surrounded by her family and loved ones. Marilyn was 90 years old. Marilyn's beloved husband Steve predeceased her on February 21, 2020. Marilyn is survived by her beloved daughters, Sandra Havrilak, and her husband James Fey; Melanie Pierson and her husband, Kevin Pierson; and Catherine Cebrick-Schwarz; and by her son, Stephen Havrilak, Jr. and his wife Svetlana.  Marilyn is also survived by 6 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren, and a host of many other relatives and friends. Marilyn is predeceased by her parents and her grandson, Frank Kachurik.

Marilyn graduated from Plains Memorial High School with the class of 1950. She proudly attended and graduated from Wyoming Seminary Dean School of Business on June 25, 1951.

Marilyn had a very successful career with the Social Security Administration, where she worked in the Office of Hearings and Appeals until her retirement. Marilyn was loved and respected by all who knew her.

Marilyn loved life and lived it to the fullest. Reading and the theater were her passions. She traveled the world extensively with her loving husband and children. Marilyn will be missed by everyone whose life she touched.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 19, 2023, at 9:30 a.m. at the Yeosock Funeral Home, 40 S. Main Street, Plains Township, PA with a requiem service at 10:00 a.m. at the Holy Trinity Orthodox Church, where Marilyn was an active member for the last 70 years, the Rev. Innocent Neal officiating, at 401 E. Main Street, Miners Mills, PA. Interment will be at St. John the Baptist Russian Orthodox Cemetery, Pringle, PA. Relatives and friends may call on the family from 4:00-6:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 18, 2023 at the funeral home.
