Mary Rose Francis Gacomis Havir-Ide, 68, of Edwardsville passed peacefully Thursday November 11th 2021 at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center in Plains Township.

Born July 14th, 1954 she was the daughter of the late Theodore (81) and Veronica Goode-Gacomis (83).

Mary graduated from Wyoming Valley West highschool class of 1973, Empire beauty school, class of 1987, where she obtained her cosmetology & teachers licenses. She also attended Penn state Worthington campus in Dunmore where she also earned her Associates Degree in business. She was a very talented beautician & teacher, employed most recently by Creations hair salon working alongside her "bestest girlfriend" Karen Jones. She held the title of Historian through the Auxiliary at the Black Diamond American Legion in Kingston where she loved to be surrounded by her many friends. Some of Mary's greatest accomplishments in life were to make others feel beautiful inside & out through her occupation as a hairdresser & with that her dreams came true when she opened Designing Generations located at the Kingston Corners for over 20+ years, as well as a partnership she shared with her ex-husband Kenneth Steven Havir (Trucksville) of Designing Generations II on Drinker Street in Dunmore Pa. Through her work as a hairstylist/teacher she enjoyed meeting so many people of whom she still called friends until this day. Mary enjoyed teaching new & upcoming stylist through her teaching career at Empire Beauty School on Lackawanna Ave in Scranton Pa., as well as serving on the board and as President at one time of the Cosmetology Association. When Mary became inspired to do something, she put her heart into it full force. She loved meeting new friends during her journey of life & all the joy each one of you brought to her with the many memories she always shared with others. Mary shared in many stories about her Greek heritage of which she took great pride in, as her father traveled to Ellis Island New York from Greece. She shared in her dreams of someday visiting the area to meet with her extended family & to see the sites her father told her many stories of as a child growing up. Mary enjoyed eating traditional Greek food & dining at one her favorite local restaurants Theos Metro where she even shared great friendships with the owners & family Cathy, Peter, Faye, Teddy, & the late Dimitri.

She was proceeded in death by her parents Theodore & Veronica Gacomis, brother Theodore (Teddy) Gacomis, and fur-babies Buddy Havir, Meechio, Mandy, Sparky, Inky, Pinky, Cleopatra, Midnight, Oreo, MoMo, and Keesha.

Mary was devoted fun mommy, partner, mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt & great aunt.

Mary is survived by her boyfriend Gary Isaac, Edwardsville, sister Kennie (Sis) Harr, Kingston, brother Peter Gacomis and spouse Ulysses McAlpine, Providence RI, Son Christopher Michael Havir, Scranton, Daughter Terri Ann Havir Balint and spouse Christopher Michael Zeppenfelt, Kingston, Granddaughters Alicia Elizabeth Balint, Samantha Marie Lavelle and spouse AJ Bobowicz, Great Granddaughter, Aryah-Belle Ivy Bobowicz, Kingston, Daughter, Ariane Pupali-Marsico, grandchildren Noah & Nora, West Pittston, as well as nephews, great nephews, niece and "itty bitty kitty" Jewels.

A celebration of life/memorial/auxiliary service will be held Saturday November 20th, 2021 at 4:00 PM at the Black Diamond American Legion Post 395, 386 Wyoming Avenue, Kingston PA 18704 where all are welcome to enjoy in laughter, memories, tears, hugs & food. Arrangements are in care of the Yeosock Funeral Home, 40 South Main Street, Plains PA. 18705 with a private interment for the family.
