Mary E. Homick, 90, a former resident of the Miner's Mills section of Wilkes-Barre,  passed away on Tuesday, October 31, 2023, at Wesley Village Nursing and Rehabilitation in Pittston. She was the daughter of the late John P. and Frances (Stuckowski) Knasiak.

Mary was a proud graduate of Coughlin High School, Class of 1951, and she went on to have a distinguished career with Bell Telephone, where she dedicated 21 years of her life. Her commitment to her work was a testament to her strong work ethic and dedication.

Mary was predeceased by her beloved husband of 44 years, Steven Homick, a retired Master Sergeant in the Air Force and a Vocational Arts Teacher for 20 years in Dayton, Ohio. Their love and partnership were a source of strength and inspiration to those who knew them.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mary was predeceased by her sisters, Theresa and Francine Knasiak. She is survived by three generations of nieces and nephews, cousins and friends who will carry on her memory and legacy.

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the caring staff of the West Wing at Wesley Village for their dedicated and compassionate care during Mary's residence there.

A Requiem Funeral Mass will be held at 10 am on Saturday, November 4, 2023, at Ss Peter and Paul Parish Church, located at 13 Hudson Road, Plains, PA 18705. Friends and family are invited to a visitation service beginning at 9 am until the time of the Mass.  Arrangements by the Yeosock Funeral Home in Plains.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lily Stroud Trust Fund for the Pura Syndrome Foundation, located at 5 Riverview Drive, Plains, PA 18705.

Mary E. Homick will be remembered not only for her professional achievements but also for her warm heart and the love she shared with her family and community. Her legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing her.
