Mary Micikas, 99, died peacefully in her sleep Monday morning, April 10, 2023 at Makarios Assisted Living, Aurora, CO. The daughter of Susan Sekel and John Parada, Mary was born on August 22, 1923 in Plains Township. She graduated from Plains Memorial High School in 1942 and married Peter Micikas of Miners Mills on September 1, 1945. Mary and Peter were married for 45 years until Peter's passing in 1990. Mary moved to Colorado in 2010 to be close to her children and grandchildren prior to which, for many years, she was an active member of St Mary's Byzantine Catholic Chuch

Mary was the last living sibling of 11 children of Susan and John. She is survived by her sons, Michael P. Micikas and James D. Micikas; her grandchildren, Mary E. Micikas, AnnMarie M. Bridges, James P. Micikas, and Ashley M. Gonzalez; and her great-grandson, Iktan A. Gonzalez.

Friends and family members are invited to join Mary's children and grandchildren in sharing memories of her life from 10:00 - 10:45 am on Friday, April 21, at St. Mary's Byzantine Catholic Church, 695 N Main St, Wilkes-Barre, 18705. The Funeral Requiem Service will be held at 11:00 am, with interment immediately following in St. Mary's Byzantine Catholic Cemetery, Dallas. Arrangements by Yeosock Funeral Home, Plains.
