Maureen A. Stackalis, 81, of Luzerne, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, April 1, 2025, surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born in Binghamton, NY, she was the daughter of the late Mary Phillips of Dallas. Maureen was a proud graduate of Luzerne High School, Class of 1961.

She is survived by her devoted husband, John "Jack" Stackalis of Luzerne; daughter, Susan Wylam of Carbondale; son, Jack Stackalis and his wife Michaeline of El Dorado Hills, CA; grandchildren, Evan Wylam and his wife Vicky of Malvern, PA; Kylie Sheets and her husband Jason of California; Colin Stackalis of Arizona; and great-granddaughter, Jane, also of California.

She was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Christine Martino.

Family and friends are invited to call from 2:00 to 4:00 PM on Sunday at Yeosock Funeral Home, 40 South Main Street, Plains, PA 18705, with a funeral service at 3:30 PM. Private interment will be held by the family.
