Mayra "Myra" Cruz, 70, of Wilkes-Barre passed away Friday, January 27th, 2023 at Geisinger Wyoming Medical Center. Myra was born on January 1, 1953, to the late Mario Cartas and Migdalia  Pastrana.  She is predeceased by siblings, Antonio Gonzalez and Mario Cartas.She is survied by her husband, Jesus Cariaga, children, Michael Yi and wife Maricary, Gloria Cassano and Husband Michael, Melba Cruz and spouse Ciera, Julia Cariaga and husband Dale, Jesus Cruz and spouse Hanna, and Luis Cruz. Grandchildren: Keanu and Lanai Yi, Argenis Lopez, Danayah Lopez, Lylah Lopez, Ariel Lopez, Consuela Rodriguez, Saelah Rodriguez, Raina Palmer, Janelle Burke,  Josiah West, Javian Cariaga, Yesenia Cruz, Jesus Cruz, Gunner Cruz, Amaya Harris, Nevaeh Cruz, Noah Cruz, Isaiah Cruz, And many more who were not related, but knew her love and called her Wela. Great-grandchildren: Karter Lopez and Jayliana Lopez. Myra was born in Cuba and immigrated to the United States in 1963. Everyone new her as "Mami" or "Wela". She took everyone in and gave her last anytime someone was in need. Myra's death was unexpected and left many with a missing piece. Myra adores her children and grandchildren and told everyone about them every chance she had.She loved to cook, dance and celebrate every occasion. Her energy and joy brightened up anyone's day. Her absence is felt up and down the east coast. The family celebrated Myra's life in a private viewing.
