Obituary

Nancy Pocceschi, 90, of Mountain Top, passed away peacefully at her home on January 30, 2025. Born November 9, 1934, in Port Griffith, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Frances (Alexis) Kasisky. Nancy graduated from Jenkins Township High School and worked for GE-RCA for many years.

Nancy was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Pocceschi. Left to cherish her memory are a brother, Robert Kasisky, and his wife Maureen of Johnstown; her children, Roberta Pocceschi (Pittston Twp.), Richard Pocceschi and his wife Patricia (Pittston), Andrea Pocceschi (Mountain Top), and Elaine Pocceschi (Mountain Top); her grandchildren, Ryan Matalonis (Pittston), Beth Matalonis (Pittston Twp.), Sarah Suchocki and her husband Ronald Suchocki (Pittston Twp.), Amanda Pocceschi (Pittston), and Richard Pocceschi (Plains); her nine great-grandchildren, Anthony, Sadie, Jase, Emilly, Braeden, Madesto, Ryker, Gabriella, and Luca; and many nieces and nephews.

Nancy enjoyed watching and feeding the deer that frequented her yard at home, playing cards with family and friends, spending time at the family cabin on Lake Wallenpaupack, displaying her snowmen collection that she acquired over the years, and listening to her favorite music. Above all, Nancy cherished the time she spent with her family. Whether it was simple moments at home or special gatherings, her greatest joy came from being surrounded by the ones she loved.

Nancy will be remembered for her love of family, her smile that warmed your heart, her witty remarks, her encouragement and support without a hint of judgment or criticism, and her comforting embraces.

The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to Compassionate Care Hospice for their exceptional support, care, and kindness that brought comfort to Nancy and her family.
