Nancy Samson, 71, of Nanticoke, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center.

Born on April 7, 1955, in Wilkes-Barre, Nancy was the daughter of Margaret Garvin and the late Leonard Stravinski.

Nancy worked as a certified nursing assistant for many years. She had a generous heart and found joy in taking care of others. Whether someone was family, a friend, or a person she had only just met, Nancy never wanted anyone to go hungry or feel forgotten. Her kitchen was a place where love was shared through home-cooked meals, and she was always happiest knowing that everyone around her was fed and cared for.

A woman of Catholic faith, Nancy lived her life with kindness, generosity, and a deep devotion to her family. Her children and grandchildren meant the world to her, and she was always checking in to make sure everyone was doing well. She loved to laugh with her children and the people she loved, and those moments of laughter and joy will be treasured by her family forever. She also enjoyed visiting thrift stores, where she loved finding little treasures, clothing, and thoughtful gifts for the people she loved. Even in the simplest moments, Nancy was thinking of others and finding ways to make their lives a little brighter.

Nancy’s love was not always expressed through grand gestures, but through the countless little things she did each day. It was in the meals she prepared, the phone calls to check on loved ones, the gifts she picked out with someone special in mind, and the care she gave so freely. She had a way of making people feel loved, and her family will forever cherish the warmth and comfort she brought into their lives.

Nancy was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Gregory Samson, with whom she is now reunited.

She is survived by her loving children, Matthew and his wife, Angelique; Carolann and her husband, John; Brian; Karen and her husband, Larry; Tommy and his wife, Dawn; and John. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren, Larry, Christopher, Bradley, Blake, Nova, Alivia, Noah, Riley, Levi, Emily, and Natalie, each of whom held a special place in her heart.

Nancy gave so much of herself to the people she loved, asking for little in return. Her kindness, generosity, and unwavering love will live on in the hearts of her family and all who were fortunate enough to know her. Though she will be deeply missed, her family finds comfort in knowing that she is at peace in the presence of the Lord and reunited with her beloved husband.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Nancy’s memory to Shriners Children’s Hospital.
