Richard H. Monroe, 85, of Kingston passed away Monday, March 13, 2023 surrounded by his loving family. Born December 19, 1937, in Wilkes-Barre, Richard was the son of the late Herman and Anna Monroe. Prior to the passing of his wife, Peggy Jane, the couple enjoyed 53 years of marriage. A graduate of Westmoreland High School, Class of 1957, Richard entered the Army and was stationed overseas as a teletype operator.  Afterwards, he was employed for over 25 years by Native Textiles, Dallas.  He was also employed by Valley Plastics, Forty Fort and formally retired from maintenance at the age of 78 from General Hospital. Richard will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, father-in-law, and all around great guy.  His biggest interests were foremost his grandchildren, and then, sports, fishing, cars, and making friends wherever he went. He was a member of Dorranceton United Methodist Church, Kingston. Surviving are his daughters, Marcella Monroe-Ward and her husband, Paul, Grantville; Patricia Rowe and her husband, Joseph, Forty Fort; Jodi Rosengrant and her husband, John, Exeter; Gina Moser and her husband, Daniel, Forty Fort; grandchildren, Emily, Ericka, Drydin, Sarina and Brycen; sister, Sheila Singer, Monroe Twp., and deceased sister, Janet Monroe. A Funeral Service will be conducted at 11 am on Friday, March 17th with Pastor Tom Swingle officiating, friends and family are invited to call for visitation from 10 am until the time of services at Yeosock Funeral Home, 40 S Main St, Plains 18705. Interment immediately following in Beaumont Cemetery, Harvey's Lake with Military Honors.
