Sheryl Ann Dutter, 61, of Shavertown, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, September 30, 2025. Born October 22, 1963, she was the beloved daughter of Stephen Serniak and the late Judith Serniak.
Sheryl's life was a gift to all who knew her. She was the cherished wife of Ralph Dutter, loving mother to Kaitlyn Maria and Kristin Homan, and a proud, adoring grandmother. Her grandchildren, Emma and Greyson Maria, were the light of her life, and she carried them in her heart each day. Sheryl was also a devoted sister to Kenneth Serniak and Stephen Serniak Jr. She is reunited in heaven with her mother, Judith Serniak, grandmother, Pauline Perrish, and grandson, Axl Maria.
Known for her kind heart, radiant spirit, and joyful presence, Sheryl was truly the life of the party and a source of warmth to everyone around her. She loved yoga, sunsets, rainbows, and feathers. She found peace in nature and never hesitated to hug a tree. Her deep spirituality and closeness to God guided her life, giving her strength, compassion, and a love that touched so many.
Sheryl will be remembered most for her boundless love of family, especially her grandchildren, who brought her immeasurable joy and cherished memories. Her presence was a blessing, and her memory will live on in the hearts of all who loved her.
Funeral services will be held Monday, October 6, at 9:30 a.m. from Yeosock Funeral Home, 40 S. Friends may call Sunday, October 5, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the funeral home. A Parastas Service will be held at 4 p.m., with the Rev. Andrii Dumnych officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that you honor Sheryl by planting a tree, practicing yoga, donating to a nature or animal charity, and hugging your loved ones.
She will be deeply missed, but the love she gave so freely will remain forever.
