Stanley Kachurik, of Miner's Mill section of Wilkes-Barre passed away Monday, June 24, 2024. Some knew him as Stanley, Stash, Stan, or Sta. But everyone knew him as a kind, generous, and good man. Stanley was a graduate of Marymount High School, who later earned an Associates in Engineering Drafting and Design Degree from Pennsylvania State University in 1968. He honorably served this great nation in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. He worked most of his career at InterMetro Industries Corporation. His hobbies included assembling model planes, signing the book at the Plains American Legion, and having a cold brew with friends and family. His passion however was in hunting and fishing, and proudly holding membership with several sportsman's clubs in the area (the most prestigious being The Stumble Inn). Stanley is preceded in death by his parents Stanley Francis Kachurik (WWII Veteran), Anna Mary Kachurik, and his nephew Frank Anthony Kachurik Jr. He is survived by his Brother Frank Anthony Kachurik Sr. (Vietnam Veteran), Nephew Matthew Paul Kachurik (GWOT Operation Enduring Freedom Veteran) and his family Sarah, Connor, Victoria, and Katie, along with Stanley's loving cousins Ricky Sawicki and Suzan Walker. A Memorial and Committal Services in Stanley's honor will be held Friday, July 12, 202, at 11 am at Mount Olivet Cemetery, 612 Mt Olivet Rd, Wyoming, PA 18644 . In lieu of flowers or donations, please honor his memory by sitting in the woods or casting a line in the water, because if there are stands or docks in heaven, he is likely sitting on one right now.
