Stanley B. Stanski, Jr, 86 passed away peacefully Friday May 5, 2023 at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Med Ctr, Wilkes-Barre.
Born Sept. 5, 1936 in Plains Twp., he was the son of the late Stanley Sr. and Helen Gabsewicz Stanski. Stanley graduated from Plains HS class of 1954 and was a graduate of Wilkes-Barre Business College. He proudly serviced in the U.S. Army based in Fairbanks, Alaska.
Stanley really enjoyed engaging in conversations with others and found the perfect career in sales. He worked within the tire industry for the majority of his career at Troy Tire; General Tire and Goodyear. Before retirement, he was employed by Sears, Wyoming Valley Mall as a sales specialist in the appliance center.
His warm personality brought smiles to everyone he met. He loved life and loved his family even more. Stanley was a loving husband, father, adoring grandfather and a friend to everyone he met. He enjoyed sports, was a lifelong die-hard fan of the Phillies, the Eagles and Penn State athletics. He loved horseracing and could always be found at Pocono Downs.
Stanley is survived by his devoted wife of 58 years, Helen Barber Stanski; son Stan (Lissette) Stanski; grandchildren Jason, Breana, Natalie; sister Bernadine Stanski and sister-in-law Barbara Stanski.
In addition to his late parents, Stanley is preceded in death by his son, Thomas Stanski and brother, Fredrick Stanski.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday morning at 10 am in Ss. Peter and Paul Church, 13 Hudson Road, Plains, 18705. Friends and family are invited to attend the Mass and the viewing service beginning at 9 am until the time of services. Interment immediately following in Ss Peter and Paul Parish Cemetery, Plains.
