Theresa (Terry) Marie Luksic passed peacefully into her heavenly home on September 21, 2024. Born in Luzerne, PA 94 years ago to John and Rose (Pestak) Luksic, Terry was a graduate of Luzerne High School and Wilkes-Barre Business College. She was the fourth of seven siblings and a devoted member of St. Nicholas Parish in Wilkes-Barre, where she volunteered as a lector and helped organize parish picnics.

Terry was a beloved daughter, sister, aunt, sister-in-law and friend. She was a blessing to all those who knew her. While all of her siblings got married and left home, she remained at the homestead to care for their mom. Terry was always active in her younger years with walking, skiing and traveling. She loved the finest of things…shoes, clothing, furnishings and food. Terry was an outstanding cook, and served as hostess of countless meals where guests were well fed and celebrated her delicious creations. Aunt Terry loved to chat over the miles and visit in person with her siblings and her many nieces and nephews, who were her pride and joy. Terry loved her family dearly and always enjoyed get-togethers and celebrations where she'd raise a glass to family and good health. Her fierce but gentle love of family was second only to her love of the Lord. A woman of faith who prayed religiously, Terry relied on our loving Lord to get her through each day. We're certain that she's finally home, sharing her contagious laugh and the humor she'd find in the bleakest of circumstances. Aunt Terry, we will miss you until we're together again!

Terry was determined to take on the world and all its obstacles without a bit of regret  and much hard work. Prior to her retirement, Terry worked for the American Express Company in New York, RCA in Mountain Top, Social Security Administration in Wilkes-Barre, the Diocese of Scranton, Luzerne and Lackawanna Counties, Leslie Fay in Wilkes-Barre, Curves for Women in Wilkes-Barre and Mature Worker Program of Luzerne County. Terry's most favorite role was as a housekeeper and cook for a priest in the Diocese. She came into her own with her cooking and planning special dinners for visiting priests, as well as creating special celebrations for the parishes where she worked.

Terry was preceded in death by her siblings: Louise (Luksic) Scanlon, Andrew Luksic, Rosemary (Luksic) Kent, Claire (Luksic) Kohl and Bernard Luksic. Her passing was also preceded by that of her beloved poodles, Michelle and Mimi. She is survived by brother John Luksic (Essie) of Pasco, WA, her dear close friend and sister-in-law, Bernadine Luksic, Shavertown, numerous nieces and nephews, and her dear friend, Nancy, who was faithful in visiting her at her bedside.

A Funeral Mass for Terry will be celebrated 10 am on Saturday, October 5, 2024, at St Nicholas RC Church, 226 S Washington St, Wilkes-Barre, PA 18701.  Inurnment immediately following in St Ignatious Cemetery, Pringle. Arrangements by Yeosock Funeral Home, Plains.
