Thomas M. Loyack, 83, of Pittston, passed away peacefully on July 18, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.
Born in Pittston, he was the son of the late Stephen Loyack and Agnes Lapsansky Loyack. Thomas was a hardworking and devoted man who dedicated many years of service to Tobyhanna Army Depot. He was also employed by St. John the Baptist Church and St. John the Evangelist Church, where he faithfully served his parish communities.
A man of deep faith, Thomas was a devoted member of St. John the Baptist Church and later St. John the Evangelist Church. His faith, kindness, and commitment to helping others were evident throughout his life.
Thomas will be remembered for his quiet strength, gentle spirit, unwavering faith, and devotion to his family. He found his greatest happiness in the company of those he loved and leaves behind a legacy of kindness, compassion, and dedication that will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
In addition to his parents, Thomas was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Georgia Simon Loyack; and his brothers, Stephen Loyack of Massachusetts and John Loyack of Pennsylvania.
He is survived by his son, Stephen Loyack and his wife, Chrissy; his daughter, Julie; his cherished grandchildren; and many loving nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his sisters-in-law, Mary Loyack, wife of the late Stephen Loyack, and Joanne Loyack, wife of the late John Loyack, along with extended family and dear friends who will miss him greatly.
A private burial service will be held at St. John the Baptist Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice in Thomas’s memory.
The family wishes to express their gratitude to all those who have offered their prayers, support, and condolences during this difficult time.
