Obituary

William D. "Billy" Harper, 71, of Kingston, passed away peacefully on November 19, 2025, at Allied Hospice in Wilkes-Barre, with his beloved wife at his side. Born in Kingston, Billy was the eldest son of the late Francis C. Harper and Rita (Yenashuski) Harper. He was a graduate of Bishop O'Reilly High School and was employed over the years by Harrisburg News and the Times Leader.

Billy was an avid and accomplished bowler who devoted many years to the sport he loved. He served as a former board member of the Wyoming Valley Bowling Association and competed in several leagues at Chacko's Family Bowling Center. In recognition of his dedication and achievements, he was inducted into the Wyoming Valley Men's Bowling Hall of Fame in 2002.

In addition to his parents, Billy was preceded in death by those he held dear. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Sandra (Davies) Harper; his stepchildren, Valerie Andres and her partner Frank Lagan of Kingston, and Denny Libby and his wife Anne (Chacko) Libby of Swoyersville; and his step-grandchildren, Timothy and Justin Andres, and Jonathan Libby. He is also survived by his siblings: Michael Harper; Debbie Morgan (David); Frank Harper (Georgette); Thomas Harper (Mindy); Karen Gallagher (Michael); Paul Harper (Michaline); Bonnie Ann Ellsworth (Michael); along with several nieces and nephews, including his godson, Daniel Harper.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday December 21st from 1 to 3 pm  at Yeosock Funeral Home, 40 S Main St, Plains.
